Responsibilities:

As a Server Administrator at Aluxium, you will be responsible for the following:

• Server Maintenance:
• Ensure our cloud infrastructure is up-to-date and performing optimally.
• Implement and manage monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain and upgrade servers to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
• Database Administration:
• Manage database systems, ensuring their performance, security, and availability.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, updates, and optimizations.
• Collaborate with developers to support database requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Security:
• Implement and maintain appropriate security measures to protect our systems and data.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits, including bi-yearly penetration tests with third-party vendors.
• Disaster Recovery and Backup:
• Develop, review, and update disaster recovery and backup policies and procedures.
• Test disaster recovery plans regularly to ensure they are effective and reliable.
• Ensure backups are performed and verified in accordance with company policies.
• Research and Development:
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in server and cloud technologies.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve our infrastructure and processes.
• Lead and participate in projects to implement new technologies and solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update our cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure comprehensive monitoring systems are in place and functioning correctly.
• Implement and maintain security systems to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
• Review, test, and update disaster recovery and backup policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with third parties to conduct bi-yearly penetration tests and achieve security compliance.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support ongoing projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in database administration (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with security best practices and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
